Game Recap

The Russellville Lady Panther Softball team wins 11-7 against the Franklin Simpson Lady Wildcats. The Lady Panthers finish 4-2 in district play and improve their record to 10-7 on the year. Russellville pitcher Addie Mosier picked up the win, pitching 4 2/3 strong innings. The Lady Panthers bats were hot, recording 10 hits and scoring 4 runs in the first inning. Mosier only allowed 4 runs through the first 3 inning. With the score 4-2 in the top of the 4th, the Panther offense went on a scoring frenzy. The panthers scored 7 runs in the 4th inning off 5 hits. The Lady Wildcats threatened the Panthers in the final inning cutting the lead to 11-7. With two outs and the tying run at the plate, relieve pitcher A’miyah Collier pitches a strike out to end the game. As good as the bats were for the Panthers, the defense was just as good. The Lady Panthers did not commit an error in the game. Recording hits for the Panthers were Chloe Whitescarver (2), Lilly Newman (2), Crissy Higgins (2), Brinley Mason, Jaylah Kees (2), Hannah Alford, Amiyah Collier, and Addie Mosier. Madison Penrod reached base twice on a walk and HBP.
