Game Recap

The Russellville Panthers beat the Clinton County Bulldogs 78-72 in overtime, to advance to the second round of the 4th Region Class A tournament. The Panthers trailed the entire game until Sophomore Elijah Kemp hit 2 free throws to tie the game at 61 late in the 4th quarter. The Panther bench came up big for Panthers scoring 33 of their 78 points. Reserve Elijah Kemp and Pedro Bradshaw led the Panthers with 17 points a piece. DeShawn Mason scored 6 of his 15 points in overtime giving the Panthers a big spark off the bench. The Panthers finished the game 13-15 from the free throw line. Bradshaw was 5 for 6 from the line in overtime to help seal the win. Others scoring for the Panthers were Jacob Naylor with 10 points, Jaylyn McMurry 8, Shon Kees 7, Micah Naylor 3, Paul Jones 1. The Panthers will travel to Monroe County Thursday night to face the Monroe County Falcons in the semi finals of the Class A 4th region tournament.
